The President of Aix-Marseille University Eric Berton joins the Board of Directors of the Maison Mode Méditerranée (MMM).
With a PhD in Fluid Mechanics, he took charge of the sports department in the Engineering Science Department where he created a group of researchers to work on Muscle Biomechanics and the Biomechanics of Movement.
He created a Masters Degree course in Movement Engineering and Ergonomics, and at the same time undertook to develop relationships between business and Aix-Marseille-II, with the creation in 2009 of a Chair of Excellence in association with the industrial group Oxylane. As part of the University's Foundation, he also launched a Chair of "Engineering, innovation and Ergonomics of Sports Projects" which finances research projects in the field of Sport and Technologies for the Ageing Process.
In 2010, Éric Berton became Dean of the Marseilles Faculty of Sports Science. In January 2012, he became a member of the Governing Board of the merged University of Aix-Marseille as delegated Vice President for Valorisation and Innovation. He also took over the management of the Institute of Movement Sciences (UMR AMU/CNRS), until 2019. Éric Berton is also President of AMU's business incubator, 'Impulse' (since 2012) and was President of the incubator 'Belle de Mai' from 2015 to 2020.
